1st Meritorious award / career counselling held

The Sheikh Babumacha Memorial Trust, in association with Youth Progressive Organisation (YPO), Athletic Brothers' Association (ABA) and Kshetri Iril Mapal Youth Club (KIYC) organised and held the 1st Meritorious Award cum Career Counselling at the Community Hall in Rahmania, Kshetri Mayai Leikai, Kshetrigao yesterday.
Speaking on the occasion, social worker Sheikh Noorul Hassan said that the meritorious award cum career counselling will be held every year from now on.
For the first two years, the programme will be held exclusively for students of Keirao and Assembly Constituencies (ACs) and later on cover other ACs in the State as well.
The award is not subjected to only rank holders but to successful candidates of all division, in order to motivate them and a career counselling is also provided to the students.
The function had over 250 students enrolled for the meritorious award.
The award given to the students included a certificate, memento and cash award and special prizes were awarded to one position holder and one differently abled student of the ACs.
The programme was attended by MCS, under-secy (Works) Sheikh Abdul Hakim, IFS Consul General of India Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Noor Rahman Sheikh, MPS, DSP-CID Farooque Khutheibam, MCS, SDO/BDO Nungba, Mohammad Asghar Arzad and MCS, Assistant Commissioner Dr Md Imran Khan, who spoke on various career related topics and also motivated the students.
