Manipur records 874 new cases in last 24 hours to take daily positivity rate to 13.1 pc
Slight dip in new cases, but huge jump in fatality with 20 deaths

Imphal, July 30 2021:
A slight dip from the high of 1000 positive cases recorded on July 29 with 874 new cases in the last 24 hours, but a big jump in the number of deaths with 20 from the 11 of July 29 marked the day in Manipur today.
This is not the first time that Manipur has recorded 20 deaths Or above in 24 hours since May.
From May till July 30, the highest number of deaths on a single day is recorded at 23 on May 19 .
And on July 13, Manipur recorded 22 deaths.
The other dates when the death toll touched 20 were May 18 and May 11.With the addition of 20 more deaths, the cumulative number of deaths has reached 1541, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room quoting the State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee.
Out of the 20 persons who passed away due to the virus, 14 had co-morbidities while only 4 were inoculated with the first dose of the vaccine.
The deceased persons belonged to Imphal West (4), Imphal East (5), Thoubal (3), Bishnupur (5), Ukhrul (1), Jiribam (1) and Chandel (1).The 874 persons who tested positive include 2 Central security personnel.
The positive cases were detected while testing 6673 samples to the take daily positivity rate to 13.1 percent.
Of the 872 civilians who tested positive, 433 were women and the total 874 cases were detected while testing at RIMS (42), JNIMS (32), District Hospitals (643) and other testing centres (157).The positive cases from amongst the general population are drawn from Imphal East (171), Imphal West (252), Thoubal (49), Bishnupur (137), Kakching (75), Ukhrul (13), Churachandpur (84), Chandel (16), Senapati (13), Tamenglong (8), Tengnoupal (2), Jiribam (4), Noney (19), Pherzawl (1), Kangpokpi (27) and Kamjong (1) .
Precautionary measures including containment and contact tracing have been taken up, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
On the other hand 1014 persons were discharged during the last 24 hours to take the recovery rate to 87.43 percent.
The were discharged from home isolation (436), RIMS (44), JNIMS (13), CCCs (174) and CHICs (347) .
With the addition of 874 more cases the cumulative number of positive cases in the State has gone up to 97,698 including 3977 Central security personnel.
The cumulative number of recovered cases is now 85,422 including 3920 Central security personnel.
The number of active cases on the other hand is 10,735 including 52 Central security personnel.
On July 29 14,980 people received their vaccination shots to take the total number of people who have received their vaccination jabs to 12,90,134 .
This include 2,01,337 people who have received their second shot as well.
The total number of people eligible to receive the vaccination shot is 19,39,244.In the last 24 hours a total of 2246 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 308 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres across the State.
