KSA calls for equal treatment of students

Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) said that every student must be treated equally towards bringing an egalitarian society and colleges should start the admission process accordingly through rationalisation.
KSA publicity secretary Babulu said in a statement that the first and the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic paralysed every sector and hit hard the economy throughout the globe including Manipur.
Education is among the worst affected sector but the authority concerned has been working hard to maintain academic calendar.
After thorough discussion, class X and XII examinations of CBSE for the year 2021 were cancelled and students promoted to the next higher classes through assessment.
Class X and XII examinations in Manipur to be conducted respectively by BSEM and COHSEM were also cancelled in view of the pandemic and respective boards are set to promote candidates through assessment.
Altogether 47,208 candidates were to appear in the class X examination and 31,136 in class XII exam.
It is certain that pass percentage of both class X and class XII exams will be higher this year than the previous examinations and hence government must bring out a policy so that all the students get admission in government schools/colleges as well as in private schools, the KSA statement said, adding that all the students must be treated equally and ensure admission.
It also said that colleges and higher education department should conduct career guidance and counselling so that students who are in transition period from school education to higher education could adapt to the changing academic atmosphere easily and choose subject of future prospect.
