Imphal, December 20 2018:
Alleging that the BJP's misrule and autocratic governance in the State and Centre, have caused immense hardships to the people, apart from dismantling the essence of democracy, Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress (MPTC) convener Th Inaocha Singh has called for a collective stand from the people and like-minded political parties in the State to root out the BJP Government from the State.
He also sought the people's mandate to the MPTC candidates in the coming Lok Sabha election while declaring that the said party is preparing to field its own candidates in both the Parliamentary Constituencies in the State.
Speaking at a one day State Level political convention which was organized by MPTC at Lamyanba Shanglen, Palace Compound, today, the MPTC Convenor accused the BJP Governments, including the State Government, for deceiving and misleading the people.
He pointed out that there is no sign of law and order maintenance in the hill districts as the State Government and the State force can no longer do anything when the transporters ferrying goods and passengers are being attacked and looted even though the same Government has repeatedly claimed that the law and order situation in the State has improved considerably.
Saying that incidents of staged encounter in the State ended only when the Supreme Court came down heavily on the alleged 1528 fake encounter cases filed by EEVFAM and HRA, Inaocha further decried that the BJP has been trying to take the credit of the positive development by misinforming the public.
The State Government is also besieged by a number of issues, including border pillar issues, MU crisis, shortage of fertilizers, oil and LPG price hike, which the BJP Government always try to cover up every time.
BJP is not respecting the laws of the Indian Constitution and the essence of democracy has been constantly threatened all over the country due to the autocratic rule of the said political party.
BJP defying 10th Schedule of Indian Constitution and forming Government till now and the recent imprisonment of Kishorchandra Wangkhem under NSA for speaking against the BJP Government are glaring examples of this, he added.
Reminding that BJP was defeated in the Assembly elections of five States recently despite forming Governments in the Centre and in many States, the MPTC convenor also termed the party's defeat as the breakdown of BJP regime in the country and a sure shot sign of its defeat in the coming Lok Sabha elections.
Meanwhile Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Manipur State president Soram Iboyaima urged the people to fight for their fundamental rights while claiming that many benefits of the welfare schemes taken up in the State, including NFSA, are being prevented from reaching the deserving beneficiaries.
The NCP president continued that it is high time for the public to introspect the way BJP runs the country so as to teach them a befitting lesson for their misdeed.
Democratic Bharatiya Samaj Party, Manipur State Committee (DBSP/MSC) president Ch Premchandra Singh and many MPTC leaders, including its general secretary Y Kiran Singh, vice president Kh Jiken Singh, State Platform for Differently Abled Persons president Md Yunus Khan among others were also pfesent at the event.
