ICFAI students carry out plastic-free campaign

Manipuri students studying at Institute of Charter Finance Analysis of India (ICFAI) University, Tripura organized a plastic-free campaign at Paona Bazar today.
The students participating in the campaign distributed paper bags and pamphlets to the shopkeepers and public present along the road stretches of Paona Bazar and Ima Keithel (located on the Paona Bazar side).
They also sensitized the public and shopkeepers about the negative effects of the ever increasing use of plastics to the environment.
Speaking to The Sangai Express, ICFAI Development Officer S Ajit Meitei conveyed that the campaign was organized with a strong belief that the campaign will be able to minimize the environmental degradation caused by the usage of plastic in the State.
He went on to state that the campaign was only a small contribution of the Manipuri students studying at ICFAI University to the State.
He exuded confidence that plastic pollution can be contained if student community, youth and other sections of the society take up environ-mental campaign enmasse.
