Students Union stages sit in

Students Union of Hindi Teachers Training College Imphal has staged a sit in protest, demanding a recruitment of its vacant posts of teacher, at its college gate, DM College campus yesterday.
Speaking to media persons, the union's general secretary, Thokchom Bishwajit said that the college, which is the only remaining college in North East India, will be boycotted if the concerned authorities doesn't recruit the required teachers at the earliest.
The college was established in 1975, he said and added that there have not been any recruitment process to replace the retired teachers since 2006.2 more teachers will be retired next month, he added.
Saying that 5 posts are still lying vacant when there should be 10, he maintained that no regular teachers are recruited till date for the said Hindi college, except for the Principal.
He further questioned the fate of over 100 students/trainees who are studying in the college without adequate teachers.
Bishwajit further cautioned that the class will be boycotted if the demand is not met by January, next year.
