Minister interacts with beneficiaries of various schemes, CRPF officials

As a part of the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' celebration, Union minister of state for youth affairs & sports Nisith Pramanik on Saturday interacted with beneficiaries of various government schemes at an event organised jointly by district administrations of Imphal East and Imphal West at Indoor Stadium, Khuman Lampak Sports Complex here.
Altogether 125 beneficiaries from Imphal East and Imphal West who benefited from various government schemes such as PMAY, PM Kishan Samman Nidhi, PM Ujjwala Yojana, Poshan Abhiyan, PM Matru Vandana Yojana, JJM, PM Mudra Yojana, PM Gareeb Kalyan Yojana, Ayushman PM Jan Arogya Yojana attended the programme.
The beneficiaries expressed their happiness on getting benefits of these schemes which have been taken up under the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
They also told the minister about the assistance they had received under these schemes.
Queries and demands on the shortages of materials, funds were also made by the beneficiaries in connection with the implementation of the schemes and also ap pealed to the union minister to look into their demands and take initiatives for ensuring effective implementation of developmental schemes.
Addressing the gathering, Union minister Nisith Pramanik congratulated the people for the celebration of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav'.
He stated that he felt proud of coming to Manipur, a precious land which has produced several talented sportspersons like Mirabai Chanu, who has brought laurels for the country.
The people of Manipur are patriotic and they feel proud of being an Indian, he said.
Nisith Pramanik mentioned that there was a time when the entire North East region was left behind on its own.
However, after Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister, various development initiatives have been taken up in the entire NE region continuously.
Maintaining that several welfare schemes have been launched which have benefitted many people of the country, he highlighted the benefits of schemes such as Ujjwala Yojana, PM Gareeb Kalyan Yojana, PMAY, etc.
He continued that with the launched of Jal Jeevan Mission, the problem of shortage of drinking water in the State has been tackled to a large extent and it has benefitted a large number of households in the State.
With the launch of Ayushman Bharat Yojana, health care system has been improving at a faster pace, he added.
The MoS further assured that he will have a discussion with each and every stakeholder to bring development in the state in every sector including health, sports, education, road connectivity, etc.
Among others, principal secretary (Sports) SS Chaabra and Imphal East DC Khumanthem Diana were also present during the interaction programme.
Union minister Nisith Pramanik, who is in the state in connection with Seva Sushasan Garib Kalyan programme also visited CRPF Group Centre, Langjing and interacted with CRPF officials on Saturday.
During the interaction programme, Nisith Pramanik said that North East region was given step-motherly treatment for a long time and hence hindered development process for a long time.
However, various development projects are being taken up in the region ever since the coming of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led BJP government.
The region has witnessed significant development nowadays particularly in telecom sector, road connectivity, job for youth and sports and many people of the region have now excelled in international level, he said.
Regarding insurgency in Manipur, the Union minister observed that guns cannot bring solution to the existing problem and there will no development without peace.
He also said that the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is opening its door widely for holding talks with insurgents.
He further said that construction of National Sports University in Manipur is one example of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's keen attention towards the region.
