Mass vaccination progs held; aid provided

Mass vaccination drives against Covid-19 were conducted in various parts of the state on Tuesday.
As a part of district wise mass vaccination programme being held from June 21, a mass vaccination programme was organised at Poiroutongba Tangkhul village community hall under 16-Tulihal Zilla Pari-shad of Keirao Bitra Block, Imphal East district on Tuesday.
Apart from administering Covid vaccine, the programme held under the aegis of 16-Tulihal ZP member and BJP Manipur Pradesh Vaccination Committee state in-charge Kongbam Inaocha Devi also included brief sessions to make the locals aware about Covid-19 and distribution of face masks, sanitizers and paracetamol to people coming for vaccination.
K Inaocha also provided edibles and medicines to Community Home Isolation Centre opened in Ngariyan Hill for Andro assembly constituency.
Meanwhile, a mass vaccination programme was organised by Primary Health Centre (PHC), Moreh Vaccination Team in collaboration with Moreh-based Hill Tribal Council (HTC), Kuki Students' Organisation and Moreh Youth Club (MYC) under the aegis of Tengnoupal district administration at HTC office on Tuesday.
Speaking to the media in this regard, district immunisation officer (DIO) Tengnoupal Kh Gojen Singh informed that with 314 people vaccinated on Tuesday, a total of 13,918 people have been inoculated in Tengnoupal district so far.
The conduct of the vaccination programme was monitored by Moreh ADC Keisham Jadumani Singh, SDO Irengbam Dineshkumar Singh, chief medical officer (CMO), Tengnoupal Dr Lamkhoneng Haokip and PHC Moreh MO in-charge Dr Khangembam Santikumar Singh, he added.
Kh Gojen also informed that two people volunteered for Covid-19 testing on suspicion of being infected but both were found negative.
