IRCS organises voluntary blood donation camp

Imphal, June 29 2021:
Indian Red Cross Society, Imphal East district branch organised a voluntary blood donation camp at JNIMS hospital today.
The blood donation which was organised as a continuation of 'World Blood Donors Day' celebration (June 14) was organised by IRCS in collaboration with Blood Transfusion Department, JNIMS and 9 volunteers donated blood at the camp.
Speaking at the camp, Narendra Ningomba, chairman, IRCS Imphal East, said donating blood was not only a great service to mankind but also good for the body and such voluntary act will help in providing life saving treatment to many people in need during such hard times presented by the pandemic.
IRCS Imphal East also distributed face masks and sanitizer donated by Manipuri families and researcher scholars in Taiwan to ASHA' workers of PHCs at Mantripukhri, Minuthong and Sangaipat.
The members of IRCS also donated kitchen items, mosquito nets (3 numbers), blankets and water jerry cans to a family in Bashikhong Kongba Erong whose house was destroyed by a fire recently.
