CESD Director stresses on identifying attractive spots, imparting right training to youth to promote tourism

2nd World War Imphal Campaign Foundation in association with Centre for Entrepreneurship and Skill Development (CESD) Manipur University organised an interaction session on "War tourism: Prospect and challenges in Manipur" at MU Centre for Entrepreneurship and Skill Development conference hall, MU today.
Speaking on the occasion, Director, CESD Chongtham Ibohal said that it is necessary to identify various unique and attractive spots in the State so as to make Manipur a terrific tourist destination.
He said that the people of Manipur suffered a lot during the World War-II and promoting the museum or historical sites like the INA memorial complex, war cemetery etc is quite necessary in order to remember the events and showcase it to'the rest of the world.
Stating that many Japan natives often visit the last resting site of their forefathers, Ibohal added that imparting the right kind of training to the youth of the State will enable them to provide proper guidance to the visiting tourists apart from giving the youths an opportunity to know their ancestors and their brave exploits.
This will in turn help develop tourism in Manipur, he added.
Deputy Director Manipur Tourism, Moirangthem Kapajit was also present in the function.
