Loitam Richard murder case: Heat to be piled on Karnataka

Leaders of the six student bodies (AMSU, MSF, DESAM, KSA, SWAK, SUK) will be going to Karnataka to press the Chief Minister of that State to bring justice to Loitam Richard, who was found allegedly murder inside his hostel room of Acharya NRV School of Architecure on the night of April 18 .
Addressing a press meet in this connection at the office of MSF here today, Vice President of DESAM M Angamba asserted that Richard was murdered inside his hostel room by his hostel mates on the night of April 18 .
People have been protesting against the murder and demanding justice through various forms of agitation.
However, the government of Karnataka is not taking the matter seriously and trying to convert it into a case of natural death.
On the other hand, Manipur government is also not paying due attention to the seriousness of the issue, he lamented.
Decrying the inaction of the two state governments, representatives of the six students' bodies will go to Karnataka and press the Chief Minister of Karnataka to do justice, Angamba informed, adding that a team will be leaving Imphal for Bangalore on June 4 .
If, the BJP government in Karnataka failed to give positive response to the demand of students' bodies, they will abolish the BJP unit in Manipur, he added.
While in Karnataka, the students' team will also meet leaders of Bangalore Manipuri Students' Union and other students' bodies of North East India in Bangalore to scale up the agitation over Richard murder case, Angamba informed.
It is said that Vice President of AMSU Abdul Haque, President of MSF Ng Milan, President of KSA Y Pradipkumar, Vice President of DESAM M Angamba, General Secretary of SWAK Sinam Punsiba and Vice President of SUK L Santosh would be among the team which will be going to Karnataka Tuesday.
