To ensure proper functioning of the SDO/BDO offices in the sub-divisional headquarters of the hill districts, a meeting chaired by Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh today has discussed reconstruction of all the offices that have been burnt down or damaged in the protest over ADC election.
According to an official source, Chief Secretary DS Poonia, DGP Y Joykumar, Principal Secretary Finance AN Jha, Commissioner Revenue S Sunderlal and Deputy Commissioners and SPs of all the hill districts attended in the meeting.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister instructed all the Deputy Commissioners to submit a detailed report on the existing infrastructures including cases where there is SDO/BDO offices but no residential quarters of the staff as well as the offices that would be requiring reconstruction.
The meeting also discussed the issues related to existing condition of the police stations in all sub-divisional headquarters of the district hills like absence of barracks.
The meeting decided that police stations which are still underconstruction should be completed at the earliest possible to ensure proper functioning.
The meeting also agreed that necessary steps should be taken up to ensure banking facilities in all the blocks.
The Chief Minister had also given instruction to the attending Deputy Commissioners for implementation of the ongoing exercise on house listing in the hill districts, which is being carried out as part of the larger Census operation.
