Imphal, June 18 2010:
The Patriotic Writers' Forum (PAWF) observed today the 9th anniversary of the Great June Uprising here at Imphal at the hall of Manipur Dramatic Union.
As a part of the observance, ten writers read out their poetries.
The writers also discussed and analyzed the poetry "Ee Amasung Pee" edited by Sharatchand Thiyam and published on June 18, 2005 by Shale Sathou Lup.
Prof.Naorem Khagendra, convener of the Sahitya Academy Advisory Board was the chief guest of the function.
He observed that politicians from Nagaland are more far-sighted than the Manipur politicians.
Whenever a central leader visit them, the Nagaland politicians try to find out in advance the guest house where that leader will be staying and book rooms adjacent to the central leader's room.
There they will be in a position to contact directly with that leader and extract various benefits from him.
On the other hand the Manipur politicians make some salutary gestures to the central leader and sent him off with some gifts.
The main duty of the Manipur politicians has become only to temporarily beautify the roads which the central leader will be travelling and flatter him.
In the function the President of PAWF, Thokchom Chandra and Associate Prof.Koijam Shantibala of the Manipur University delivered lectures on the poetry "Ee Amasung Pee".
