Buses, Van services from Manipur banned in Nagaland

The indefinite ban on the movement of Manipur bus and Tata Winger van services imposed by All Nagaland Private Bus Union and Winger Operators (ANPBU&WO) began today here.
The agitation of ANPBU &WO has been triggered by the killing of a Tata Winger van in Manipur after abducting him by two unidentified men on February 22 .
Apart from demanding [prompt investigation into the incident, the ban on bus and Tata Winger services from Manipur has been banned in Nagaland to exert pressures on the Government of Manipur to compensate the family of the deceased.
Md Munas Ali alias Suto, 22 years, s/o Md Matalim alias Akbar Ali, who was hailed from Sukhajan village under Bokajan police station of Karbi Anglong district, plied a Tata Winger van between Dimapur and Imphal.
On February 22 at 11 am, two men hired Ali's Tata Winger van from North AOC, Imphal on the pretext of fetching a patient from Kangpokpi which is some 40 km north of Imphal.
But Ali remained traceless until his lifeless body was found near a village in Sadar Hills, Senapati district of Manipur on March 7.He was one of the members of ANPBU &WO .
Meanwhile, Newmai News Network witnesseda large number of volunteers of ANPBU&WO at Nichugar Gate near Patkai College in Dimapur this afternoon, enforcing the ban.
