Condemning the statement made of Youth Affairs Secretary Radhey Shyam Julaniya recently to remove some disciplines from the SAI/STC Khuman Lampak, Kang-leipak Students' Association has sought the attention of the Government to intervene and save the centre.
Speaking at the office of the association today, its youth affairs and sports secretary, Sanjoy Khulakpam said that KSA condemns the 'silence' of the Government and the authorities concerned in the matter.
Apprehensive, the players and their guardians have been staging protests to save their career and the SAI centre, he said asserting that discontinuing some disciplines would affect the centre and career of the players concerned of the centre.
Stating that the centre has produced many eminent sports personalities including many Olympians and Arjuna Awardees, he said that the Government and authorities concerned should take the apprehension of the players seriously and take appropriate actions to address them.
KSA will be launching intense agitation if the Government doesn't act at the earliest, he said.
