K celebrates first anniversary

The Students Union of Kangleipak (SUK) celebrated its first foundation anniversary at its Kwakeithel Thokchom Leikai office today.
The celebration was held with Life Watch chief administrator Angomcha Araba and SUK president Jayentakumar Khuman as the chief guest and functional president respectively while UNACSU president and FREINDS general secretary Joy Chingaknam graced the occasion as the guests of honour.
Speaking as the chief guest, Angomcha Araba called upon the student community to strive for academic excellence as well as contribute their mite in the socio-cultural activities.
Expressing that balancing between studies and social activities had become inevitable for student activists as Manipur is still lagging behind on both the im portant sectors, he reminded that student leaders of today will have to play their role in a purposeful manner so that future generation of students do not face Problems being endured by the present day students.
In his brief comment, Joy Chingakham regretted that the Government of Manipur lacks seriousness in solving various education-related problems.
"Lamenting that focus is more on material development rather than improve the education sector, he pointed out that overall progress would be possible only when there is improvement in the State's education system.
Joy also urged the student organisations to work with unity and cohesion in order to achieve the goal of peace and development.
