Healthy baby show competitions held

Chandel/Kangpokpi/Tamenglong, November 12 2013:
District Health Society, Chandel organised a healthy baby show competition at District Hospital, Chandel at Christian Village today.
The competition was organised under the sponsorship of National Rural Health Mission with an objective to reduce the infant and mother mortality rate as well as to encourage institution delivery.
.WThungam Anal, chief of Hnatham Village; Dr.Romi Ngoru, District Immunisation Officer, Chandel and Dr..SIbomcha Singh, Chief Medical Officer Chandel graced the prized distribution function as Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and functional President respectively.
During the programme, Kankhu Theatre and Cultural Development Society, Chandel also presented a play on the role of ASHA titled 'Punsi Hrin' (New life).

The play has been written and directed by S.Pearson and it is sponsored by NRHM, Chandel.
The same play would be staged again at Japhou Bazar at 2: 00 pm tomorrow.
The winners of healthy baby competition were Ninghring D/o Merison of Chandel Christian Village in category C (24-36 months), Hira S/o Ashok of Japhou Bazar in category B (12-23 months) and Toto Vuntha D/o Merison of Chandel Christian in Category A (6-11 months).
The winners in the three categories will now represent the District in the forth coming state level Healthy Baby Show Competition to be held on November 14 .
On the other hand, a similar District Level Healthy Baby Competition was held under aegis of District Immunization Officer(DIO) at Community Health Centre, Kangpokpi, 45 km north of Imphal today.
In all 41 children participated in the competition held under three different categories.
According to a circular issued by DIO, Kangpokpi Dr H Khamkhanpau Simte, PY Majulong's child PY Theigui of Ningthoupham village under Senapati district bagged the first prize in 6-11 months category while Lamkhonhao Khongsai's child Lamgougun of Kangpokpi ward number 13 and Letchunglen singson, a child of Pupu Singson of Kangpokpi ward number 12 got first prizes in 12-23 months and 24-35 months categories respectively.
Our Tamenglong correspondent Daniel Kamei adds: The District Health Mission Society, Tamenglong on Tuesday organised a healthy baby competition at Tamenglong hospital.
The occasion was graced by Joseph Pauline, ADM Tamenglong as chief guest and Dr.Chambo Gonmei, Chief Medical Officer/ Director, District Health Mission Society Tamenglong as president of the function respectively.
Out of the 103 participants, nine babies are selected as healthiest babies of the district in three categories.
In the age group of 6 to 11 months, Jaojianthuan s/o Erei Poukhinlung of Tamenglong ward No.VI; Meisuanguiliu d/o TP.
Ringluanlung Tamenglong ward No.I and Thuiguangliu Riamei d/o Namding Riamei of Chingkhiuluang bagged the first, second and third position respectively.
In the age group of 12 to 23 months, Namchunlungliu d/o Guiringmei of C.Centre Tamenglong Ward No.VII; Gairankhuanang s/o Nakiumang Gonmei of Model village Tamenglong Ward No.III and Daolouliu Kamei d/o Adim Kamei of Namlalong Tamenglong Ward NO.II bagged the first, second and third prizes respectively.
In the age group of 24 to 36 months category, Gaichaengdin M.Gangmei s/o Aduangamang M.Gangmei of Chiuluan village; Mathiuduanang s/o Kadimdai of Phunguang Tamenglong Ward No X and Gaikurei R.Panmei s/o Lungthuan R.Panmei of C.Centre Tamenglong Ward No.VII bagged first, second and third prizes respectively.
The first prizes carry Rs.3000 along with medal and certificate, while Rs.2000 along with medal and certificate for the second prizes and Rs.1000 along with citation medal and certificate for the 3rd prizes.
Those selected babies would be representing the district in the state level baby healthy competition at Imphal on November 14 .
In the meantime, Living Words Ministry Tamenglong team today visited the district hospital and distributed bible track, cash and offered prayer for the recovery of the sick patients.
