Imphal, January 12 2012:
The Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) as a part of taking up necessary measures to ensure supply of required fuel for use in connection with the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly scheduled on January 28, has stocked up fuel in designated retail outlets for security personnel on election duty.
On the other hand, effecting a slight reshuffling among the 12 designated retail outlets already announced in the nine districts of the state, the IOC has come out with a new list of 12 designated retail outlets today.
According to information received from the Regional Office of IOC here, acting on the instruction of Chief Electoral Officer of the state, IOC has designated 12 retail outlets covering all the nine districts of the state for stocking up required petrol and diesel for use in connection with the ensuing election to the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly.
However, as the district authorities concerned have not yet provided detailed report on the quantity of fuel that would be required for other departmental staff and officials on election duty, the Corporation is finding difficulty in finalizing the quantity of fuel to be stocked up.
Nonetheless, in connection with the ensuing election, IOC has given instruction to all the 12 designated retail outlets for keeping at least 8 KL of petrol and diesel each in their respective underground tanks till March 3 and depositing Rs 12.43 lakh with the Corporation at the rate of one load of petrol/diesel through their respective accounts.
The required fuel quantity to be stocked up, however, may be increased in accordance to the need.
Meanwhile, a slight reshuffling among the designated retail outlets announced earlier by the IOC has been effected today.
Accordingly, the revised designated retail outlets are Phulchand Trilokchand at Khuyathong and Bakliwal Enterprises at North AOC for Imphal town, Tiddim Service Station at Keishampat for Imphal West district, Porompat Service Station at Porompat for Imphal East district, Kanhai & Sons for Thoubal district, HL & Sons.
