TC lines up chief's visit

In connection with the 10th State Assembly Elections, leader of All India Trinamool Congress, Mamata Banerjee is set to visit the State to campaign for her party.
Addressing a press conference held today at Manipur Press Club, Sourav Chakrabarti, State election observer of the party informed that the working president of Trinamool Congress, Mamata Banerjee has paid more attention on Manipur in the ensuing elections which would be held together with five States.
The president who is also the Chief Minister of West Bengal along with other leaders of the party would address a public meeting here in Imphal, he added.
He asserted that an election manifesto which includes major issues of the State would also be released soon.
Highlighting that Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress has nominated 47 candidates to contest the elections, Manipur unit president Kim Gangte said that the nominated 47 candidates comprised of 15 candidates from hill constituencies including one woman and remaining were from the valley constituencies.
She further clarified that there were no controversies in giving party tickets.
