Over 21K Kakching AC denizens given Covid vaccine

Sustaining the efforts of ensuring that every eligible person in Kakching assembly constituency having 28,979 adult population gets their Covid-9 vaccine, 21,251 people have been administered the first dose of Covid vaccine while 2412 others have been jabbed for the second time till Thursday.
As a part of the initiative to make Kakching a Covid free constituency, District Health Society Kakching and Kakching Ward No 4 Covid Task Force jointly conducted mass Covid vaccination programme under the supervision of MLA M Rameshwar at Kakching Chumnang Leikai community hall on Thursday.
In all, 270 people got the jab during the vaccination programme Speaking on the sidelines of inspecting the vaccination drive, MLA Rameshwar informed that the vaccination programme is a part of the initiative taken up by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister N Biren for ensuring free vaccination to all eligible people.
Such programmes have been conducted in other areas under Kakching constituency.
The mass vaccination programme is aimed at inoculating 28,979 eligible people of the constituency, he continued, while adding that the remaining people will also be vaccinated at the earliest.
Stating that mass vaccination programme will be held continuously in Sora which has low vaccina- tion rate as compared to other areas, Rameshwar maintained that around 95 per cent to 100 per cent of the eligible people in Kakching could be vaccinated by the end of the next week.
In a bid to combat the third wave, if any, construction of a 100-bedded Covid dedicated hospital has begun near CHC Kakching under the supervision of CM N Biren.
The hospital will not only benefit the people of Kakching but also the people of neighbouring districts.
The CM has been planning to set up an oxygen generation plant in Kakching, he informed, while lauding the chief minister for such initiatives.
Observing that Covid positivity rate in Kakching is decreasing due to increase in vaccination rate; MLA Rameshwar exhorted the people to administer the vaccine without fail and also urged to strictly follow SOP guidelines laid down by the government.
