Items presented to clubs involved in Covid fight

Nambol AC MLA Nameirakpam Loken Singh in association with Nambol Kendra for Community Home Isolation Centre Management Sub Committee distributed items to 42 clubs of 4 GPs of the constituency in a function held at SK Women's College, Nambol Thursday.
After distribution of face masks, hand sanitisers, hand gloves and PPE kits to 34 clubs in Nambol Municipal Council Area on June 28; 1150 bottles of Hand Sanitisers, 12 boxes of Hand Gloves, 3000 Face Masks, 200 Surgery Caps, etc., were distributed to 37 clubs at 11 Covid-19 vaccination sites on Thursday.
Moreover, 42 clubs were provided 42 boxes of Hand Gloves, 142 bottles of Hand Sanitisers, 42 Sodium Hypochlorite (5 litre), 42 Face Masks (100 Piece each) and 84 PPE Kits.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Loken informed that the assistance from the government during the second wave has reduced considerably due to rising number of positive cases.
He also said that 413 people who tested positive had stayed at the Community Home Isolation Centre set up at SK Women's College but there are only 34 left in the centre as they are having difficulty in isolating at home.
The MLA then urged all to get vaccinated, adding that only 60 percent of the population in Nambol AC have been vaccinated till date.
Nonetheless, efforts will be made to vaccinate the remaining at the earliest.
He further urged who have tested positive to stay at Community Care Centre and Community Home Isolation Centre to prevent the spread of the virus while stressing that local clubs and organisations have a huge role to play in curbing the pandemic.
The distribution was attended by CHC Nambol MO in-charge Dr L Kuber, SK Women's College Community Home Isolation Centre caretaker O Inaoba, SDC Nambol Circle O Boynao, Bishnupur District Police DSP (Ops) L Shantikumar and OC Nambol K Subashchandra Singh.
