839 more test positive to take total past 75 K, 12 deaths recorded
Manipur records positivity rate of 19.1 pc, highest in Jun and Jul

Imphal, July 08 2021:
With 839 persons returning positive results out of 4390 samples tested in the last 24 hours, Manipur recorded a high daily positivity rate of 19.1 percent.
This is the highest daily positivity rate for the months of June and July and earlier on May 5, the State had recorded a high of 20.43 percent.
With the addition of 839, the total number of positive cases in Manipur now stands at 75,180 including 3899 Central security personnel.
The 839 positive cases include six Central security personnel.
Manipur also reported 12 more deaths to take the cumulative number of deaths to 1241.The deceased hailed from Imphal West (4), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (2), Kakching (1), Kangpokpi (1) and Churachandpur (3).They passed away at RIMS (3), JNIMS (3), Raj Medicity (1), Churachandpur District Hospital (3), CCC Bal Bhavan (1) and home isolation (1) .
The 833 positive cases from amongst the general population are from Imphal East (155), Imphal West (318), Thoubal (62), Bishnupur (55), Kakching (89), Ukhrul (7), Chura-chandpur (65), Chandel (18), Tamenglong (6), Tengnoupal (2), Pherzawl (13), Kamjong (1), Noney (1) and Kangpokpi (41) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing have been taken up, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room in a statement.
On the other hand 634 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours to take the total recovered cases to 67,212 including 3789 Central security personnel.
The 634 persons were discharged from home isolation (248), RIMS (15), JNIMS (2), CCCs (90) and CHICs (279).The recovery rate now stands at 89.40 percent.
On July 7, a total of 30,627 received their vaccination shots to take the total number of vaccinated people to 8,26,702 and out of this the number of people who have received their second dose is 91,092.In the last 24 hours, a total of 1716 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 477 B Type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health centres across the State.
The COVID-19 Common Control Room has again asked all those whose oxygen level drops below 94 percent to immediately seek medical assistance or shift to a Covid Care Centre.
