Imphal, March 24 2014:
The PHED, Senapati district is supplying adequate drinking water to all the Central Paramilitary forces deployed on poll duty even though the hill district is already water-starved, according to Bipin, an Engineer with the district PHED office.
"Senapati is known for its problem of water shortage.
However I'll work with all my honest efforts to ensure regular supply of water in the district," said Bipin.
He, however, admitted normal supply of potable water is impossible in the absence of raw water.
The security personnel arrived in the district a week ago for the coming 16th Lok Sabha election, the engineer said, informing that sufficient water tankers are now being sent to them on routine basis.
He said the need for water is likely to double especially for the security personnel since the polling day is approaching fast for the Outer Parliamentary Constituency.
PHED, Senapati is also serving the people of the district with unbroken supply of water using water tanks whenever scarcity of water arises in any area, Bipin added.
