The Kuki Chiefs' Association, Kana area (Sajiktampak area), Chandel district, Manipur has drawn the attention of the government authority concerned to the transportation bottleneck being faced by the villagers of the areas.
Chairman of KAKCA, Zangkholun Haokip in a press release said that the road between Chakpikarong, HQ of the said area and Sajiktampak, which is 12 km long, is now in a very bad shape except Chakpikarong to Hringkhu village, which has been blacktopped.
The road side drainage needs immediate repairing.
Most importantly, the Bailey steel bridge over Kana river at Gelngai village is now in a dilapidated condition.
Goods vehicles can not cross the bridge since last two weeks.
As a result, the villagers, government agencies and security forces have been facing difficulties.
Therefore the KAKCA urged the authority concerned to look into the grievances of the people of the areas.
