AZSU, ZYF decry highhandedness of AR

All Zeliangrong Students' Union (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland) and Zeliangrong Youth Front (Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) have come out strongly against the alleged highhandedness of one Major Avinash of 13th Assam Rifles posted at Khongshang.
In a joint statement, President of AZSU (AMN) Pamei Tigenlung) and President of ZYF (AMN) Titus Kamei stated that on February 21, a joint meeting of Zeliangrong Baudi, Manipur; several village chairmen and representatives, youth and student leaders was in progress at the community hall of Nungba Sub-Division headquarters to discuss development works in Zeliangrong area when Major Avinash barged in to take video coverage of the meeting and created disturbances.
Major Avinash demanded that the minutes of the meeting be handed over to him and questioned why the meeting was being held without his permission.
After a heated argument, Major Avinash left the meeting hall only to wait outside.
When the meeting was over, Major Avinash detained the youth and student leaders and instructed his men to check all the vehicles.
Major Avinash also tried to obtain signatures on a black paper, the joint statement said, appealed to the authority concerned to take up exemplary action against Major Avinash.
