Do not obstruct Natl projects call issued

The people of Pungmonchingchen village have urged the State Government and the authorities concerned to take up necessary actions against those who create hindrance or obstruct the railway project related works in connection with compensation issue.
Speaking to media persons at Minuthong today Pungmonchingchen Village Authority chairman B Sanongba said that the Imphal-Jiribam railway project taken up by North East Frontier Railway affects the land of two villages in the far reaches of Tamenglong district, namely Pungmonchingchen and Marangching villages.
He clarified that when it comes to Marangching village, there were disputes regarding the affected land during the time of the survey, but Pungmonchingchen do not have any kind of disputes.
As a result, Tamenglong DC, provided the necessary compensation for
Pungmonchingchen village, to its village chief, Kh Lovejoy.
Even during the compensation payment, there were no disputes/inconveniences, he added.
Condemning the announcement by Marangching village secretary Guangchalung Gangmei through media on Friday, to impose bandh along Marangching-Imphal road, B Sanongba clarified that the compensation for Pungmonchingchen was given to the village chief by the DC after following necessary procedures and there was no foul play involved.
The chairman warned against any form of obstruction or blockage of railway project related works around Pungmonchingchen village and further appealed to the State Government and the authority concerned to take up necessary action against those who create trouble.
On the other hand, one Gaijinlung Kamei (speaking on behalf of the villagers) stated that a JAC which was formed by one Namrolung Gondamei, Guangchalung Gangmei and some other individuals, had been dissolved by the people.
The villagers will not support the indefinite bandh called by the so called JAC along Marangching-Imphal road, he said, and alleged that the move is a result of some vested interests.
He also appealed to the authority concerned to take up necessary action against the people obstructing such National projects at the earliest.
