Free LPG connections at Kyamgei Maning Leikai

MLA Lourembam Rameshwor Meitei has claimed that after some years, Keirao Assembly Constituency will be one of the leading constituencies in the health sector in the State.
He made the statement during the distribution programme of free LPG connections to poor families under the Prime Minister Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) at Kyamgei Maning Leikai today.
Speaking at the event, the MLA stated that the construction work of district hospital at Kyamgei has already started and added that Rs 5 crore has already been poured into laying the earthwork foundation of the hospital and the funds for the infrastructure development will be provided soon.
A 50 bedded Ayush Hospital is currently under construction at Keirao Wangkhem and plans are being made to inaugurate the hospital in February next year.
A Homeopathic Medical College will also be constructed at Keirao Khunou, he added.
The MLA continued that land has already been acquired for the construction of a health centre at Waithou Chiru and he himself accompanied Health Minister L Jayantakumar and other officials on an inspection trip to the site.
After completion of all these projects, Keirao A/C will rapidly develop in the field of health, Rameshwor added.
Speaking about the roads and connectivity options, the MLA conveyed that a proposal has been forwarded to the State Government for the construction of a 20 kilometre long road under PMGSY scheme.
Another Rs & crore will be sanctioned under CRF for the development of the village roads, he added.
Rameshwor also claimed that, construction works on Kyamgei Pal Ahanbi bridge will begin from August 16 and the contractors concerned have already been intimated about the work.
Necessary tenders have been floated for the construction of bailey bridges at Urup Salanpham, Urup Kangthak and Arapti Ireima.
Planning Department has already provided necessary funds to YAS Department for the construction of a sports gallery at Arapti Kangjeibung, he informed.
The LPG connection was provided by M/S Hiyangthang Indane Gramin Vitrak during today's event.
Pointing out that Waithou Chiru is the first smokeless village in Manipur, Rameshwor said and added that Keirao A/C is also one of the Constituencies with the highest number of LPG connection distribution.
