State Level Badminton Championship : K Gunjan wins U-11 and U-13 girls' singles titles

Imphal, August 11 2018: Konsam Gunjan emerged champion of both the U-11 and U-13 girls' singles competitions at the 2nd Yonex Sunrise State Level Badminton tournament 2018 being organised by Manipur Badminton Association at its Indoor Stadium at DM College Campus, Imphal.

K Gunjan defeated Khangembam Saniya Devi in straight sets (21-3, 21-12) in the final to win the U-l 1 title before beating Sananu Meishnam 21-14, 15-21, 21-19 in the U-13 girls' singles final to claim her second title.

Devbarta and Everest won the U-13 boys' doubles title with a 21-17, 21-13 win over Borish Salam and Gunachandra Naorem in the final.

Other Events
Th Matic will be meeting N Avinash in the final clash of the boys U-13 singles competition.

Th Matic outlasted Gunachandra Naorem 21-15, 21-14 in the first semi-final staged today while N Avinash got better of Kasporv in straight sets (21-18, 21-18) to book the final berth.

Devbarta who beat Gung Sh 21-12, 21-8 in the first semi-final of the U-13 boys doubles competition will meet Kyoveio V in the final.

Kyoveio outlasted K Dayananda 21-11, 21-16 in another semi-final match and booked the final berth.

H Rohenkumar and Kh Amarjit will lock horns with Y Hemjit and Y Sudiskumar in the final of the boys U-15 doubles competition.

Rohenkumar and Kh Amarjit had an easy 21-12, 21-10 win over Alex Ng and RK Alen in the first semifinal match staged today while Hemjit and Sudiskumar edged out A Mangal and Kasprov 21-17, 18-21, 21-14 in another semi-final clash to moved into the final.

AK Bony and K Rivaskar will meet G Rajesh and Saikhomba T in the men's double final tomorrow.

AK Bony and Rivaskar sealed the final berth of the competition securing an speedy 21-12, 21-12 win over Kh Niranjan and Kh Punshiba in the first semi-final match staged today while Rajesh and Saikhomba eased past Gold Taorem and Y Kumal 21-7, 18-21, 21-14 in the last semi-final match to move into the final.

Dijango AK and Th Tomba will take on N Premchand and Sushil H in the above 40 yrs men's doubles final tomorrow.

Dijango and Tomba carved out a 21-17, 15-21, 21-11 win over Ak Pradeep and Hirom Ibomcha in a semi-final match today before Premchand and Sushile overcame Kh Ranjit and Ng Nabakumar 21-15, 21-16 in another semi-final clash.
