Three different student organizations of Tuinem staged a protest demonstration in front of Tangkhul Baptist Church, decrying the brutal murder of one Keishing Y Shimray last night near Manipur State Assembly complex demanding the arrest of the culprit (s) involved within 48 hours.
The deceased Keishing Y Shimray had been working as an attendant at Tribal Research Institute for the past 10 years.
He was staying alone in a rent house located at Thangmeiband.
Yesterday, Keishing Y Shimray went out to buy some vegetables from the nearby market at around 7.30 pm.
Later at around 8 pm, his lifeless body was found by some police personnel lying near the wall of Lilasing Khongnanghhong High School opposite Manipur Assembly complex gate number 1 with head injuries suspected to be caused by a hard object.
A blood stained brick was also found near the incident site and some bloody finger prints were also found smeared on the school wall.

He continued that if the culprit (s) is/are not arrested/ booked by the State Government within 48 hours, they will launch intensified forms of agitation along with the apex bodies of the hills, valley as well as different CSOs of the State.
He also appealed the State Government to bring justice at the earliest.
He stated that the death of Keishing Y Shimray is an embarrassing incident for the State Government because the incident occurred near one of the most sensitive and highly guarded areas of the State and a CCTV camera is even installed above the Assembly gate.
Even with the presence of a CCTV camera, how has the State Government failed to arrest the culprit (s) till now, he questioned.
He also asked how the Government is going protect the citizens of the State and added that they have lost confidence in the Government due to last night's brutal murder in such a high security zone.
