7th Thang-Ta Federation Cup : Manipur fetch 42 more gold medals to extend lead

Imphal, August 11 2018:
A day after Manipur fetched 16 gold medals, sub-junior girls, junior boys and junior girls added another 42 gold medals, 9 silver and 3 bronze medals today to assert their dominance at the ongoing 7th Thang-Ta Federation Cup organised by Thang-Ta Federation of India in Chandigarh.
Jammu and Kashmir shone today with 8 gold, 19 silver and 12 bronze medals to follow Manipur in the second spot with a total of 9 gold, 22 silver and 13 bronze medals.
State junior boys team bagged a total of 6 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze medals in the phunaba ama events while 7 gold and 3 silver were collected in the phunaba anishuba events.
Sub-Junior boys team also added 3 gold medal and 1 silver medal in the phunaba ama events staged today.
Junior girls team bagged a total of 7 gold and a silver medal in the phunaba ama events while the team collected 8 gold medal in the phunaba anishuba events.
Sub-junior girls team bagged another 4 gold medal today in the phunaba anishuba events.
Sub-Junior Boys Phunaba Ama
Ch Rishikanta Singh (-45 kg), H Century (-53 kg) and L Chingkheinganba (+53 kg) won one gold medal each for Manipur today in the Sub-Junior Boys Phunaba Ama while Ph Bishorjit claimed a silver in the -49 kg category.
Junior Boys Phunaba Ama Sh Roseland Singh of Manipur opened gold medal account in the -44 kg category beating Pawan Legha of Rajasthan while L Arunkumar Singh of Manipur beat Ruben Chanda of Tripura to win the -48 kg gold.
W Roshan (-56 kg), Y Deepak (-75 kg), Y Robertson (-80 kg) and H Langnamba (+80 kg) also added one gold medal each for Manipur.
Manipur's L Lenil Singh went down to Aniket Rameshrao Vaidya of Maharashtra in the -53 kg final to settle with a silver medal while Tuljit Khuman bagged a bronze medal in the -70 kg category.
Junior Boys Phunaba Anishuba
H Manganleiba Meitei bagged Manipur's first gold medal in the -44 kg junior boys phunaba anishuba event beating Sibu Dutta of Tripura while Langonba Oinam overcame Papal Sarkar of Delhi to clinch a gold medal in the -48 kg category.
Manipur's N Luhenba Meitei added a gold medal in the -56 kg final beating Hanana Iqbal of Jammu and Kashmir while Th Rajesh Singh won the -60 kg gold with a win over Rohit Kumar of Jammu and Kashmir in the final.
Ksh Robinson (-70 kg), Dijen Shagolsem (-80 kg) and RK Nongpoknganba Singh (+80 kg) also fetched one gold medal each in the phunaba anishuba events.
Y Umakanta Singh, Sh Shaeinganba Meitei and Asem Satyajit Singh finished second in their respective weight categories to claim silver medals.
Sub-Junior Girls Phunaba Anishuba
Manipur's K Thaja Chanu beat Rambhateri of Haryana in the -45 kg phunaba anishuba final for sub-junior girls to claim a gold medal while S Malemnganbi (-49 kg), S Rojika (-53 kg) and N Yaisana Chanu (+53 kg) bagged one gold medals each.
Junior Girls Phunaba Ama
Robina Heisnam opened Manipur's gold medal in the phunaba ama competition beating Tanbi Debnath of Tripura in the -40 kg final while Yumnam Pinky clinched a gold medal in the -44 kg final clash getting better of Archana Das of Tripura.
M Aleea Chanu (-48 kg), L Sophiya (-52 kg), N Jibanlata (-60 kg), L Shelly Devi (-65 kg) and Kh Priyangka Chanu (-70 kg) also won one gold medal each for Manipur in their respective weight categories while Priyangka Nongmaithem settle for a silver medal.
Junior Girls Phunaba Anishuba
Sh Roshini Devi of Manipur claimed the -40 kg category gold uncontested while L Uma Devi got better of Haryana's Rinku to win a gold medal in the -44 kg category final for junior girls' phunaba anishuba event.
Ch Riya laid her hand on the gold medal in the -48 kg category competition edging over Rachana of Haryana in the final before M Melody fetched another gold medal for Manipur in the -52 kg final beating Jui Sanjoy Cavan of Maharashtra.
K Merina (-56 kg), Neha Yumkhaibam (-60 kg), Ph Sharmila Devi (-65kg), Th Piyai Chanu (-70 kg) also added one gold medals in Manipur's tally today.
