Sit in protests staged against FA

Many Civil Service Organisations organises sit in protests at different parts of Kakching district today against the Framework Agreement and Article 371 A.The protest staged at Pallel Keithel was organised by SDO, YDO, YVA, Bazar board and PALEM Pallel.
All the shops and street vendors remained closed during the sit in and vehicular movement was closed in the area as well, reports our correspondent.
The protesters raised many slogans and placards which reads, "Protect integrity of Manipur", "We stand against Article 371 A", "We demand equal constitutional protection".
On the other hand, people of Tangjeng Khunjao, Tangjeng Khunou, Korshantabi and Chajing joined hands with UPF, UPACO, CADA, Thoubal Ima, AMSU and EECHAL staged another sit in protest at Tangjeng Community Hall.
The sit in organised at Pangantabi Keithel was organised by locals of Pangantabi, Nungoo, Chairel, Wangoo along with UPF, UPACO, CADA, AMSU, EECHAL and Thoubal Ima.
The sit in protests expressed anxiety and fear that the peace accord signed between Indian Govt and NSCN-IM might impact the interest of Manipur and the people as well.
It urged the State Government to consider the matter seriously and adopt a solution in the interest of the people.
Meanwhile, women vendors and students from Thoubal keithel area staged sit-in-protest today at Thoubal market against the Framework agreement signed between Government of India government and NSCN -IM on August 3, 2015 and demanded the territorial integrity of Manipur cannot be affected by the ongoing negotiation while cautioning that intense agitation will be launched if the FA impinge upon the territorial integrity of Manipur.
The sit-in-protest by was jointly organised by United Peoples' Front (UPF) Manipur, Thoubal District Council, AMSU Thoubal District Council, Thoubal Ema and Thoubal Keithel Apunba Ema Lup.
While speaking to the media person, UPF Manipur president W Second said that the content of the Framework Agreement that Article 371(A) can be extended to Naga inhabitated area in Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam is cleared from the report tabled by interlocutor RN Ravi in front of Ministry of Home Affairs committee.
As such UPF Manipur along with United Committee Manipur (UCM) and other subsidiary organizations organised the sit-in-protest against the extension of Article 371 (A) in Manipur which has posed serious threat to the peaceful coexistence of valley and hill people.
He also cautioned the central government that UPF will launch violent agitation if Article 371(A) is extended to Manipur.
UCM secretary organisation Ng Deba, UCM IPR secretary BM Yaima Shah, UCM secretary account N Jiban, UPF president W Second and UPF vice-president N Ruoachandra spoke on the occasion.
