Imphal, April 07 2009:
Former Union Minister of State and the Manipur Democratic Alliance (MDA) candidate for the coming Lok Sabha election in inner Manipur, Thounaojam Chaoba today assured that he will integrate all the seven Assembly constituencies of Thoubal and Jiribam AC which have been voting in the outer Manipur constituency but could not contest the election into the inner Manipur constituency in case he is mandated to represent the inner Manipur in the 15th Lok Sabha.
Addressing an election related public meeting today at the residence of Dr Nimaichand Luwang, located at Yairipok Bishnu Naha, Th Chaoba alleged that even as the Congress and CPI's SPF government had the chances to integrate the eight Assembly constituencies into the inner Parliamentary constituency, it fails to materialise the same.
While saying that inner Manipur constituency gets only one MP, Chaoba said that Nara, who comes from the outer constituency and contested the rare MP seat in the inner seat.
To vote him is not the right step.
He also reiterated that the CPI has also joined hands in the daily killing incidents in the state while also charging them for launching campaign for the coming election by showing its deceptive love for the land.
On the charge that he is uneducated, Chaoba said that he will address the Parliament session in Manipuri dialect in case he is elected again which he said he had also done earlier.
He said that no other representatives from Manipur had ever addressed the Parliament in Manipuri.
"I'm preserving and displaying the true spirit of the people of Manipur," Chaoba claimed.
There is lawlessness and the land is turned into a killing field, Chaoba said.
He said that casting votes in favour of either the Congress or CPI will amount to supporting and endorsing the killing spree unleashed by the SPF government, which Chaoba accused of giving licenses to kill.
Chaoba maintained that a change will not be apparent in the state if the people vote in favour of the Congress and the CPI while on the other hand participating in a campaign to save Sharmila, staging a protest against extra-judicial killings, participating in agitations for the repeal of AFSPA.
He also appeals the people to teach a lesson to the Congress and CPI.
The double standard role played by the CPI cannot be accepted, he said while adding that Dr Nara will never be elected.
He said he would rather die if Dr Nara is elected.
Speaking on the occasion, MPP President, Dr L Chandramani appealed the people to vote for the MPP candidate Th Chaoba so as to bring a change in the state.
Chanura Marup President, G Gunapati, Working President Th Dhaneshori, Dr Nimaichand Luwang and several NCP members have also addressed the meeting today.
