Foreign delegation receivers' convoy forced to turn back

A convoy of vehicles which went towards Moreh to receive foriegn delegates for Sangai Festival could not proceed and returned from Saivom village due to the indefinite bandh being imposed by the Kuki Student's Organisation (KSO) along Imphal-Moreh road today.
The bandh supporters who enforced the indefinite bandh along the Imphal-Moreh road halted the convoy of vehicles who came towards Moreh from Imphal to receive a team of foriegn delegates for the ongoing Sangai Festival at Saivom willage and were forced to turn back.
After failing to arrive at any understanding during the meeting with the State's Education Minister and IGNOU's Regional Director, the student's body intensified their agitation and enforced the indefinite bandh at several places along the section of National Highway.
Large number of bandh supporters blocked the road at Saivom, Tengnoupal and Chahmol village and prohibited vehicular movement along Imphal-Moreh road.
It may be mentioned that the Kuki Student's Organisation (KSO) Chandel imposed indefinite bandh along the Imphal - Moreh Section of National Highway 102 in protest against shifting of D.El.Ed 2yrs Examination Centre of Tengnoupal BRC IGNOU Study Centre outside the District since Nov 14 .
Meanwhile, Kuki Chiefs' Association(KCA) Tengnoupal Block urge the State government and concern authority to settle the issue on the ongoing agitation of Kuki Student's Organisation, Chandel District at the earliest.
In a press statement signed by Tm.
Holkhokhai Haokip, President of KCA Tengnoupal Block stated that economic activities of the general public particularly the villagers of the area has been severely affected due to the indefinite bandh imposed along the Imphal-Moreh road by KSO since last Saturday.
KCA President also appealed to the concern authority to settle the issue at the earliest in the interest of the student's community as well as the general public.
