Chin Province CM arrives Imphal today

Imphal, November 19 2014:
In the midst of the ongoing 48-hr bandh on national highways called by TSA protesting against land acquisition for the proposed Smart City at Haolenphai near Moreh, a 35-member team from neighboring Myanmar led by Chief Minister of Chin Province U Hong Ngai will arrive at Imphal tomorrow to participate in the Sangai Festival which kicks off on November 21.The team is slated to drop in Imphal by road through national highway-102 on various types of vehicles.
According to official sources, a state team comprising Minister of Commerce and Industries Govindas Konthoujam, eleven Liaison officers along with armed security escorts has already stationed at Moreh.
The official team accompanying the chief minister of Chin province will include Minister of Chin state Dr Ba Maung, Minister U Kyaw Nyein, Minister U Kyint Lian Paung, MLA (Hakha) U Robin, Professor of Health Department Dr Ko ko Lwin, state head of department U Aum Kan Kat and 29 other officers, businessmen and cultural troupes.
The source further disclosed that the Myanmar team will leave Imphal on November 23 and every possible security measures have been taken for their safe stay here.
The state government has also issued an order to this effect.
