MoU signed with HCL for TechBee prog

The state government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hindustan Computer Limited (HCL) for providing job-oriented technology education to students of the state under the latter's TechBee programme.
The MoU was signed in a simple event held at the CM's secretariat here on Tuesday.
Department of information and technology took up the joint initiative with HCL to cater to the increasing demand of skilled manpower in IT sector.
Under the programme, youth, who have completed 10+2 level will be provided job-oriented training for one year and successful students will be provided placement in HCL and partner organisations in the IT sector.
According to HCL vice-president Subramaniam, opportunity will be given to first 500 students from the state and 50 per cent of the course fee will be borne by the state government.
Students, who secured a minimum of 60 per cent in aggregate as well as in Mathematics of Business Mathematics subjects in 10+2 examination, can apply for the course, which will be conducted in both offline and online mode.
After completing the initial six months of the course, students will be provided a stipend of Rs 10,000 per month for the remaining six months.
The admission process will be 24x7 and interview successful candidates will be provided a laptop each from HCL.
Successful candidates will be provided placement in different campuses of HCL and partner organisations with initial salary of Rs 1.7 lakh to Rs 2.2 lakh per annum.
Assuring that there will be cent per cent success rate under the programme, he said that in case of any student failing to clear the course, HCL will refund the entire course fee.
