The Loktak Development Authority (LDA) has launched a new exercise of ascertaining the exact boundaries of Loktak lake with the help of Global Positioning System (GPS) .
An official source informed that the boundary identification work has been completed from Potshangbam to Sendra.
Notably, Loktak lake has been already declared a Ramsar site.
In the course of the ongoing exercise, it was detected that some families have even obtained pattas within the boundary of the lake while some others are cultivating paddy without holding any patta.
Meanwhile, a boundary committee comprising of Forest Department and Revenue Department officials has been constituted to ascertain the exact boundaries of Keibul Lamjao National Park.
