Bomb hurled at 2 houses in Thoubal

Kakching, July 08 2012:
Unknown miscreants last night attacked two houses in Thoubal district with hand grenades in which one failed to explode while the other went off.
The first incident occurred at house of Thoudam Guni (58) s/o late Chaigoi of Thoubal Wangmataba along the Thoubal College Road at around 11 pm.
Some portions of the Shangoi, windows glasses and roof of the house were destroyed in the explosion, but no one was injured.
Thoudam Guni, who is the ADM, Imphal West is in New Delhi on some official works at present.
The reason behind the bomb attack and the identity of the miscreants are yet to be established.
Decrying the bomb attack, the locals staged a sit in protest at Devi Mandap, Thoubal Wangmataba today.
The protest was jointly organised by Wangmataba Youth Club, Okram Mahila Mandal and Women's Development Association, Thoubal.
On the other hand, an unexploded bomb was found inside the garage of Yengkhom Joykumar (55) s/o late Yaibi of Kakching Mayai Leikai today morning.
The unexploded bomb was found without its safety pin and was suspected to have been hurled by unknown miscreants last night.
After informing Kakching Police, a team of Manipur Police Bomb Experts came to retrieve the bomb at around 10.10 am and disposed it off safely at DSA Ground, Kakching.
Yengkhom Joykumar is the owner of the NRL Service Station located at Thoubal.
The identity of the attackers and the reason behind the attack is not known till now.
Social Welfare Sporting Club, Kakching Mayai Leikai has strongly condemned the bomb attack at the house of its Secretary Joykumar and appealed to all concerned not to repeat such acts in future.
