Plantation drives conducted

15 Assam Rifles carried out a tree saplings plantation drive in association with the villagers of Yairipok, students of Yairipok Senior School, Yairipok Junior School and Foundation Career English School yesterday.
Altogether, 2000 trees were planted comprising of fruit trees, ornamental and medicinal trees.
More than five hundred students participated in this event.
Gifts and sweets were distributed amongst the student, said a press release issued by PRO Hqs IGAR (S).
It added, in another occassion, 38 Assam Rifles planted over 1100 saplings in the areas of Aina and Mulhoichchin in Churachandpur district yesterday.
Different varieties of saplings which include ornamental, fruit bearing and other forest trees were planted during the programme which has been initiated by the Assam Rifles with an aim to make our environment greener and also to still awareness amongst the locals.
