More fines collected

The Police Department collected a sum of Rs 1,15,750/- (Rs one lakh, fifteen thousand, seven hundred fifty only) as fine from SOP violators today.
336 SOP violators were detained and fined today out of which Imphal West alone had 168 violators.
The Police Department continued the crack down on violators of guidelines and restrictions issued by the State Government and the State Disaster Management Authority in connection with COVID-19 pandemic, including failure to wear mask in public places, failure to maintain social distancing in public places, spitting in public places, etc, to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the State.
The Police Department warned that those who violate the SOP shall be dealt with strong legal action under National Disaster Management Act, 2005 and other appropriate laws.
The Police Department has collected a sum of Rs 1,96,39,750/- ( Rs One crore, ninety six lakh, thirty nine thousand and seven hundred fifty only) as of today.
Despite the increase in penalty for SOP violators and various restrictions imposed by the Government in order to contain the spread of the virus, the public continue to break the guidelines.
