TCFC urges DC for minimum staff attendance during lockdown

Ukhrul, May 06 2021:
The Tangkhul Co-ordination Forum on Covid-19 (TCFC) submitted a letter on May 5 to the Deputy Commissioner Ukhrul, Joseph Pauline Kamson urging him to only make the minimum number of staff attend office during the 10 days lockdown imposed by Tangkhul CSOs in Ukhrul district.
The Tangkhul Co-ordination Forum on Covid-19, a sub committee of Tangkhul Naga Long was formed last year to monitor Covid crisis and control the spread of Coronavirus in Tangkhul region.
The TCFC consisting of all Tangkhul Frontal Organizations was instituted for both Kamjong and Ukhrul districts.
Vareinam Gachui, secretary of TCFC wrote an official letter to the Deputy Commissioner Ukhrul stating that the 10 days lockdown enforced in all Tangkhul villages of Ukhrul district will in force from May 5 to 15 .

The letter clearly mentioned that during the 10 days TCFC lockdown, only the minimum number of staff may be allowed to attend office in the district.
The same copy was also forwarded to DC & SP Kamjong District and SP Ukhrul.
The sudden imposition of of lockdown in Ukhrul town has adversely affected the life of many daily wage earners as normal activities in the town have come to a grinding halt.
Volunteers could be seen deployed in the town to check the public movement and other activities.
Meanwhile, the TNL office on Wednesday observed TNL Green Day at the president's office chamber, Viewland, despite the restriction imposed on public gathering by the State Government during the Covid pandemic.
Tuisem Kamkara, convener TCFC today issued another order to relax some of the general activities such as bank, post office, medical, electricity, water supply, police, LPG supply, essential commodities, media and newspaper, emergency services including pick up of returnees.
It may be mentioned that according to a report of District Hospital, 56 persons more from Ukhrul were tested Covid-19 positive in the last few days.
Apunba Lup declares total shutdown: Apunba Lup Ningthoukhong, in a statement issued today, informed the public that as precautionary measures, a total shutdown will be imposed for one week with effect from May 7, 2021 onwards across Ningthou-khong.
Apunba Lup mentioned that the total shutdown has been initiated taking in view the increasing cases of Covid-19 .
