The report of the high level committee looking into the leaking of the DPC results of the recruitment of primary teachers was once again tabled in a Cabinet meeting held today but no final decision was taken with regard to authentication of the result.
The Cabinet meeting was held under the chair of the Chief Minister this evening at the Cabinet room of the Chief Minister's Secretariat.
Among other agendas, the report of the high level committee headed by chief secretary, DS Poonia looking into the publication of the result of the primary teachers recruitment with alleged concealment by the authority was discussed once again with reference to comments of the Law Department.
Mention may be made here that the Cabinet had earlier discussed the report of the committee but had referred it to the Law Department to invite comments on the legal point of view on the recommendation of the committee.
SPF spokesperson, IFCD minister, N Biren informed that the Cabinet today discussed the committee report with reference to the comments of the Law Department but no final decision was taken in this regard.
He did not divulge details of the recommendation of the committee as well as the comments of the Law Department but said that a final decision into the matter will be taken by the Cabinet at the earliest.
Mention may be made that Hueiyen Lanpao had published the results of the DPC for appointment of primary teachers, Hindi primary teachers and Hindi graduate teachers with alleged concealment of the result at the last minute of declaration.
The Cabinet also discussed holding of a bye-election to the Konthoujam Assembly Constituency lying vacant after the death of seating Speaker of state Assembly Dr Sapam Budhichandra.
The Cabinet decided to recommend holding the election by the last week of the current month November or in the first week of next month December.
The recommendation will be forwarded to the Election Commission of India who will decide the schedule of the bye-election, Biren said.
The Cabinet also discussed on the widening of various roads in Imphal area to solve traffic congestion.
The Cabinet approved a proposal of the state PWD with regard to the widening of the roads, the spokesperson said The cabinet approved to acquire lands for expansion of the road from Khoyathong to Lilasing Khongnangkhong and Uripok road.
The Khoyathong-Lilasing Khongnangkhong road will be expanded upto 30 metre from the existing 25 metre while that of Uripok road from 15 metre to 25 metre, Biren said.
The cabinet also discussed the matter about the Autonomous District Council (ADC)'s devolution of power but a decision could not be taken.
Biren said that the agenda will be discussed in another round of meeting on Wednesday.
