There has been no let up to the International recognition that Mr India, Haobam Paban Kumar's film on the life of Pradipkumar, who went on to clinch the title of Mr India despite being HIV positive, have been garnering after it won the National award back home.
While Mr India has been selected for the 8th Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival, 2010 in the International competition section, the organiser of Thessaloniki International Film Festival, which is regarded as the top film festival of South Eastern Europe, has requested Paban Kumar to allow screening of his film.
Earlier, Mr India had received critical acclaim and rave reviews at the 2nd Health Film Festival of Kos.
The 8th Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival, 2010 will be held from December 9 to 13 at Kathmandu, the capital of the mountain country Nepal.
The Kathmandu film festival has been increasingly attracting many International film makers.
On the other hand, the Thessaloniki International Film Festival, apart from being regarded as the top film festival of South Eastern Europe, is also the primary and oldest festival in the Balkans for the creations of emerging filmmakers from all over the world.
The organiser has requested Paban Kumar to allow screening of his film on December 2 at the Olympion Theatre, which is the main venue of the Thessaloniki International Film Festival.
Mr India is based on Pradipkumar, who is HIV positive but overcome all odds with sheer grit and determination and went on to win the National title in body building.
