Combined annual training camp concludes

A combined annual training camp organised by 14 (M) Battalion NCC Imphal completed today.
Altogether, 263 NCC cadets of 13 colleges and 15 schools from all over the State attended the camp held at NCC GP HQ, said a press release issued by Lt Col, Camp Comdt Bhupender.
During the camp, NCC cadets were given training on various military activities like drills, map reading, marching, field craft, battle craft, physical training, firing including sports and games.
The statement continued that during the ten days camp, various lectures and demonstrations were organised by the Bn with assistance of Fire Fighting Department, Traffic Control Department, Health Department and State Disaster Management of Manipur, which assisted the unit in conducting lectures and demonstrations for the cadets.
SP Imphal West and CMO Imphal West and Imphal East provided security and medical covers respectively to the cadets.
Meanwhile, 15 Assam Rifles Mantripukhri provided Small Arms Firing Range and unit armourer for conduct of firing practices to the cadets, in which all the cadets carried out firing practices.
357 Field Hospital Leimakhong provided additional Nursing Assistant to the unit for medical cover of the cadets, it added.
Various competitions were conducted for the cadets as well.
The camp culminated with a colourful cultural programme performed by the cadets attending the camp, which was graced by Lt Gen (retd) L Nishikanta, Chairman of Manipur Public Service Commission.
Chief guest of the closing ceremony L Nishikanta, presented awards and prizes were given to the cadets who gave excellent performances apart from giving away motivational prizes to youngest Boy Cadet and youngest Girl Cadet.
Nishikanta said that NCC cadets should motivate other students in schools/colleges and children in their societies/communities.
