Peace poster contests held

Lions Peace Poster Contest 2018, organized by Lions Club of Imphal was held at Lions Service Centre, Sangaiprou.
The contest was for students of the age-group 11 to 13 years.
The contest was held under the theme - "Kindness Matters", said a statement of Lion M Manas Singh, marketing & communication officer, Lions Club of Imphal today.
The first prize with a cash award of Rs 5,000 was won by Seliya Takhellambam of Nirmalabas School.
Lions Peace Poster contest is organized by various Lions Clubs worldwide on a given theme to encourage children and youth to express their vision of peace, said the statement.
Meanwhile, as a part of the peace poster campaign, a painting competition under the theme 'Kindness Matters', organised by Lions Club of Imphal, Nambul Mapal, was held at Budhimanjuri High School, Sagolband Lukram Leirak, Imphal West today.
The competition for the children under the age group 11 to 13 years was won by Anushree RK of Kendra Vidyalaya, Langjing.
S Dumbraj and S Velentina Chanu of Budhimanjuri High School bagged the second and third prizes respectively, said a statement of president of Lions Club of Imphal, Nambul Mapal Lion K Lakshmikanta Sharma today.
Lions Club of Imphal Central also held similar contest at Imphal College for school children today.
Nahakpam Angela Devi, Mayengbam Suraj Singh and Henthoi Karam secured first, second and third positions.
Giron Aheibam, Rigand Thokchom, Debeswar Sagolsem, Wakambam Umachandra, Mohammed Akhtar, Tokpam Dhanashree Chanu and Yumlembam Molisha were selected for consolation prizes.
The awards will be distributed on November 14 at Press Club, Imphal, said a statement of secretary Lions Club Imphal Central Yumnam Ranjit Singh today.
