State logs one death, 37 new cases

Imphal, February 26 2022:
The state on Saturday reported 37 new positive'cases of Covid-19 out of 1082 samples tested in the last 24 hours, registering a positiyity rate of 3.42 per cent against 3.46 per cent recorded on Friday.
One death case was also reported on Saturday which took the toll from the pandemic to 2109 .
The victim was an unvaccinated resident of Ukhrul district.
Till date, the virus has claimed lives of 188 vaccinated people of which 58 had received second doses.
In the last 24 hours, 44 patients were discharged from home isolation (35), RIMS (2), JNIMS (2) and CCCs (5) .
However, 168 already discharged cases were reported only on Saturday stating that they were pending for update.
As a result, the total discharged cases in the last 24 hours have been calculated as 212 .
The active case has come down to 360 out of which 170 (47.22 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 273 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 92 in RIMS.
So far, the state has recorded 10,939 positive cases and 107 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 3471 new positive cases and 63 fatalities.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 343 and 13 respectively.
According to official reports, the 37 new positive cases included 35 people (12 male & 23 female) from among the general population and two personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) whose samples were confirmed at RIMS (2), JNIMS (3) and other testing centres (32) .
The positive cases from among' the general population are from Imphal East (9), Imphal West (10), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (3), Kakching (2), Kangpokpi (1), Tamenglong (2), Ukhrul (1), Chandel (3) and Churachandpur (3) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,36,727.Number of recovered cases is 1,34,258 (general population - 1,29,271 and CAPF personnel - 4,987) and number of active cases is 360 (general population 345) .
The recovery rate is 98.19 per cent.
A total of 155 D-type and 61 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours and 6510 vaccine doses administered on Friday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals to 15,08,274, out of which 11,31,526 had received second doses and 58,607 had taken precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48,589), Imphal East (30,363), Thoubal (10,118), Churachandpur (11,035), Kangpokpi (3119), Tamenglong (3466), Bishnupur (9795), Senapati (2474), Ukhrul (3254), Kakching (6865), Chandel 2700), Noney (1151), Tengnoupal (1190), Jiribam (1110), Kamjong (1033) and Pherzawl (465) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (702), Imphal East (508), Thoubal (188), Churachandpur (168), Kangpokpi (66), Tamenglong (17), Bishnupur (204), Senapati (12), Ukhrul (50), Kakching (121), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (14), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,063 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,595 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,06,606 tests per million population against the national average of 5,45,214 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent cumulative positivity rate stands at 8.70 per cent.
