8th MANIFA 2019 award function on Feb 10, criteria laid down

Imphal, December 20 2018: The 8th SSS MANIFA 2019 awards will be presented on February 10,2019 in a grand function organised by Sahitya Seva Samiti Manipur, Film Forum Manipur and Thouna at Kakching Dramatic Union auditorium.

Film Forum Manipur Chairman S Mangoljao told this while speaking to media persons at Film Forum Manipur office, Lamphelpat today.

Mangoljao said that the awards to be conferred under SSS MANIFA award 2019 on the day of the function are best Manipuri feature film, best actor in leading role (female), best actor in leading role (male), best director, best script/story, best music director, best playback singer (male), best playback singer (female), best lyricist, best editing, best art director, best make-up, best costume, best actor in supporting role (male), best actor in supporting role (female), best screenplay, best cinematography, best choreography, best background score, best film in tribal dialect, best actor in dialect film, best actress in dialect film, best child artiste, Maipak Sanahal Manipuri Jagoi Lifetime, Neta Irawat Lifetime in Manipuri Cinema and Neta Irawat Lifetime in Shumang Leela.

He informed that the last date for submitting films is January 15, 2019 adding that the nominees, of different awards will be announced on January 28.Mangoljao said that the films to be submitted, except for tribal dialect films, should be certified by CBFC between January 1 and December 31 this year.

He said that those films which were earlier applied to SSS MANIFA will not be accepted for the award Regarding tribal dialect films, Mangoljao further informed that the films should be those which have been previewed by Film Forum Manipur between January 1 and December 31 and those tribal dialect films which have been applied to SSS MANIFA will not be accepted as well.

Mangoljao conveyed that the application fee for a Manipuri feature film is Rs 5000 while that of a tribal dialect film is Rs 3000 .
