The Communist Party of India (CPI) has not yet initiated any formal talks with other political parties for the formation of next government in the state nor has it received any letter from the Chief Minister offering continued partnership in SFP Government, clarified Dr M Nara, State Secretary, CPI.
Speaking to Hueiyen Lanpao, Dr M Nara said that although talks have been started informally with some political parties of the state, CPI has not yet discussed the issue formally with other political parties so far.
However, the State level executive meeting, which was held recently and participated by all the party candidates, decided to make declaration assuring the general public that they can look forward to a much better coalition government in the state, Dr Nara informed.
Since several representatives of the state unit have gone to Delhi in connection with the electoral reforms, the CPI, State unit has been quite busy of late and as such could not devote much time on discussing the issue.
Nonetheless, CPI would discuss the issue of post-poll alliance and formation of the next government very soon, he assured.
Dr M Nara also clarified that the CPI has not received any written letter from the Chief Minister for continued partnership into the third term of SPF government contrary to the reports carried in some newspapers.
