SEACO questions the motive behind relaxing lockdown for a few hours

Imphal, April 15 2020:
South East Asia Cultural Organization (SEACO) has asked the State Government of its motive behind the relaxation of lockdown for a few hours on April 11 .
In this regard, a press release issued by SEACO said that hundreds of people came out to stock essentials on that particular day.
Claiming that most market-goers defied the Government guidelines and also didn't maintained a safe distance while buying commodities, the organisation questioned if the Government is trying to facilitate the transmission of coronavirus on the ground of religious events.
SEACO also urged the State Government to pressurise Governments in other States to check racial discrimination being faced by Northeast people at the earliest.
It further urged the State Government to provide an equal amount of essential items to the masses.
The organisation also urged the public to follow the guidelines laid down by the State Government to contain the spread of novel coronavirus.
