Minor girl tortured inhumanely, Ukhrul bodies condemn

Ukhrul, February 10 2013 :
A 9-year old girl was inflicted with multiple injuries after she was physically tortured by a man at Ukhrul.
The incident came to light after the minor girl escaped from the ''torture house'' of Jim Horam, a native of Kachai Village under Ukhrul district, and sought refuge at a relative's residence at Hungpung's Dungrei on Friday.
The victim's family lodged a complaint with Ukhrul police station and FIR has been registered.
Ukhrul SP K Kabib has also assured that action would be taken soon against the accused.
He, however, did not divulge the details of the accused person.
The culprit's father has been arrested by police on Friday but the accused is still absconding.

On Sunday evening, the Tangkhul bodies comprising Tangkhul Naga Long, Tangkhul Shanao Long, Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong and Tangkhul Mayar Ngala Long visited the victim and assured her kiths and kins of delivering justice.
According to the statements given to Tangkhul organisations, the girl lives and works at the accused house since June, 2010 .
It's said that the girl was put to torture after some gold ornaments and mobile phones went missing.
The inhuman harassment took place on February 3 last.
The young girl sustained broken collar bones on her left side, many of her body parts were pierced with sharp object and suffered bruises on various parts of her body.
The Tangkhul bodies have strongly condemned the incident and called upon the authorities to take stringent action against the accused torturer.
TNL vice president N Tuikhar said the incident is highly condemnable and assured the victim's family of bringing the culprit to book and punish according to the law of the land.
