Gang busted, 32 stolen tyres recovered

A total of 32 tyres robbed by intimidating criminals from several truck and light vehicles along Imphal-Dimapur road have been recovered by Senapati police during search in Taphou village.
Briefing the media here at 2nd Manipur Rifles today, Ishak Shah, Superintendent of Police, Senapati district, said a team of the district police carried out the search in Taphou village located along the National HIghway-2 on October 15 after receiving intelligence that unidentified criminals had robbed several tyres and batteries from several vehicles on the route after threatening the drivers.
A total of 32 tyres were recovered from the area in the search, he added.
The owners can claim the tyres after proper substantiation, he said, further informing the seized items have been kept at the 2nd MR complex.
Ishak also appealed to all the church leaders, village authorities, youth leaders and women organizations to help the police in preventing such types of crime in future.
